Introducing LoanList CRE: The Public Record of CRE Debt
Why we're building a free, searchable record of commercial real estate loan closings, and what to expect from it.
Commercial real estate loan activity is the most useful information in the debt market, and the hardest to see in one place. Closings are announced in press releases that disappear, LinkedIn posts that scroll away, and databases that cost five figures a year. If you own a building and want to know who is actually lending on properties like yours, right now, in your market, there has been no good answer.
LoanList CRE is our attempt at that answer: a free, searchable record of recent CRE loan closings: the lenders funding deals, the amounts and structures, and the markets where capital is moving.
What gets published
Each record covers the facts of a closing: amount, asset type, loan purpose, lender, market, and closing date, along with a short writeup and, where useful, market commentary on what the deal signals about lender appetite. Records are compiled from public announcements, industry reporting, and direct submissions from parties to the transactions.
Alongside the deal record, we publish periodic market pieces: which lenders are active on a given asset class, how executions are pricing relative to each other, and what borrowers with upcoming maturities should be watching.
Who writes it
LoanList CRE is written and published by Andrew Sawyer, a capital markets advisor at Piccard Financial who arranges debt and structured capital for owners, sponsors, developers, and family offices nationwide. That perspective is the point: this is market coverage written by someone who spends every day placing loans, not aggregating headlines.
That is also the disclosed business model. The data is free. Owners who want help running a financing process can work with Andrew directly, and every page on the site makes that path easy to find.
How to follow along
The loan database is live and growing. The CRE Debt Ledger, our weekly email, summarizes notable closings and lender activity. Free, one email a week. And if you closed a deal recently that belongs on the record, submissions are free and reviewed for editorial fit.
